Gadgets Overuse: Bad Effects Of Overusing Gadgets For Humans

Effect Of Gadget On Children

The effects of gadgets overuse depend upon the kind of device a human is using. If he is a game addict, he needs to wean away by better diversion. Often parents initially use the gadget to make the child be happy with himself and not bother them. However, this slowly develops into an addiction. Parents need to spend some time talking to the children regularly. May be an extended dinner time or taking them out works. Be with them and tell stories from one’sone’s experience. If the child has friends, the parents should allow his friends to come home and chit-chat. We need to recognize that human interaction is satisfying them than virtual communication. At the same time, some gadgets can be very rewarding such as Kindle. If a child a Kindle addict, in my view, this may not be a matter for worry. Since he would be able to devour lots of ideas by reading the books. However, parents have to see the kind of books he is reading.

Restricting Gadgets Overuse

It is widespread to see kids as young as toddlers spending most of the time on smartphones or tablets. Though it is unfortunate, the blame lies on parents. Parents, just for “few moments of quiet time,” hand over the gadgets to their kids. The kids happily accept them, not realizing the harmful effects on them.

Moreover, it weakens their eyesight. Studies have shown spending more time on “screen time” hampers kids ‘ mental growth. They get more detached from the real world.

As far as we concern its remedy, I would suggest a few points. The points collectively would minimize this dangerous addiction.

Firstly start by allocating a fixed time every day for screen time. You can have them disciplined as well as organize their time.

Secondly, always during meal times and sleeping times(these are the time’stime’s kids use screens mostly) allocate a part of it. I have real conversations. Doing This will not only encourage them to participate. It also will increase family bonding.

Lastly, understand what type of activity does your kid does on gadgets. Engage them worth similar games in the real world. That is when they will connect to the real world rather than the virtual world. For example, if he likes to watch animal videos/cartoons, etc., take him to a nearby zoo or have a pet at home. Kids will relish the real-world adventure more.
